The Origins of Merken
This wonderful copper-coloured spice owes its origin to the Mapuche people in the Araucanía Region of southern Chile. Known as Goat's Horn Chile, the spice is dried and slowly smoked before being combined with coriander and salt to deliver savory flavor and stimulating aroma.
An all purpose spice no kitchen should be without , Merken (or merquén) is a flavoring essential for those with a refined palette. Featured in recipes for everything from casual cuisine to gourmet cooking, this spice is highly versatile and easy to use.
It is something unique!
I absolutely love this spice! I have been using it on everything. It’s Smokey and has a nice kick but not real spicy. It just brings a delicious different flavor to any food, my favorite dish to use it with is fresh tuna. I highly recommend it.
Bought this spice hoping it would add a great Smokey flavor to my normal grilling rub and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend using it on a grilled pork tenderloin and grilled chicken.
The taste is amazing, the flavor is so fresh.
I bought this product for a BBQ because I didn’t want to use any sauce, and it was the best thing I did, the Merken gives a unique flavor! Simply add a delicious flavor and aroma to any dish.
